Thanks for your response and so quickly!
Believe me, I was rigorous about examining any differences. There was nothing. The only thing I could think was that I am 40 (I was 38 the first time I had it done) and maybe age has something to do with it. We also did numerous strand tests to see if it could take another process, but it broke quickly so it was not a good idea. The subsequent times, the already processed hair was protected with a product whose name I cannot remember (I think it is a heavy conditioner from iStraight).
I currently use Kerastase Oleo line, Phi-ten Bella and sometimes L'oreal. They definitley help smooth my hair out. I also periodically use the Kerastase Forcintense protein treatment.
I've had TR done two more times now (when it didn't really work (about 9 months apart) so it's not the iron. The woman I go to does TRs all the time and is considered one of the top people in San Francisco.
I don't think it was the product either. I think it probably was something about me, although I don't know what. That being said, I still don't know why it wouldn't work unless my hair somehow became resistant. I'm lucky. I have healthy hair, and it still looks great but I have to blow dry (or air dry completely) and flat iron to smooth out the frizziness and give it a nice feel.
I was thinking maybe next time I am due for a TR, I would go to Vincent in NY for a consultation.
Again, any thoughts based on your experience would be helpful.
