Got hair done on Thursday... was told to wait 48 hours before washing hair. During that time, weather in DC HOT and Humid in the 90's... of course right after having done on Thursday, my hair stayed straight, got fairly drowned rat look after I slept on it but no frizz. Because of the holiday weekend, ended up not washing my hair until Monday, yesterday... Sooo... my hair is the best it has EVER been... During the first wash yesterday was concerned as my hair felt very stiff. After applying the surface follow-on products, shampoo, conditioner, and mask - my hair was silky smooth. After getting out of the shower, put up in a towel for about 20 minutes, then applied the surface baba oil (not quite a quarter size amount). Decided to let my hair dry natural at least until my hair was bout 75 % dry. Have to say, I could have left my house and run errand with my hair dryed naturally - I was NEVER able to to do that with TR/Liscio. After blow drying, I absolutely didn't need to use a flat iron on my hair... however, as we had Memorial day plans wanted my hair super silky straight so went ahead and flat ironed. Also as I have now just slept my hair... it actually has body (and looks fresh!) vs the drowned rat and will hold off on washing until tomorrow or the next day depending on what it looks like tomorrow.
For the first time, I will be able to ride the log flume ride at disney, I will be able to go to a pool and let my hair air dry without looking like a circus freak (of course will confirm to this post!!!).
I can honestly say I will never go back to TR/Liscio. The final test of course is to see if this is really permanent and how long the treatment will last. Will keep updating.
For those in the DC area - I had the Surface protien smoothing treatment at EClips salon and day spa in McLean, VA - by Tiffany.
OK this part is just me ranting about Liscio becuase I feel I must. ;)
...with TR/Liscio in all of the 6 times I had done, if any part of my hair got wet it turned into kinky, brillo pad consistancy if I let air dry - I could only do the pool thing if I was close to a location where I could use a hair dryer afterwards. I could NEVER wash and go. I relented to my kids and did the log flume ride thing last year and afterwards I had perfectly smooth straight hair, with large patches of hair that looked like a brillo pad from where the water splashed - it made the rest of my day at the park miserable. I assumed that was the price I had to pay to have straight hair so just accecpted it. NEVER AGAIN.
