I know that it is not suggested that I do a TR on myself without proper training, but Im willing to take that chance. I did purchase a matrix Opti Smooth kit that included an instructional dvd. The dvd is very helpful. Also, after doing a bit of research online I've discovered that some other brands recommend that a conditioner be used after washing out the straightening cream but before neutralizing. I've seen this with the chi and someone demonstrating Liscio. The matrix opti smooth does not mention doing that what so ever. I've done the protein step when doing traditional relaxer in the past. Should I try doing that or just stick to the direction?

I also have tested the Opti Smooth on shed hair that i have been collecting for a few weeks. I made sure that the cuticles were aligned and the strand perfectly intact. Its been only 1 day so far and the hair looks nice and smooth. Im waiting for the full 48 hours to be up so that I can see if there is any real damage to the hair.

So guys are there any suggestions like tips or other brands that I should use? I pretty much live in the middle of nowhere so getting a profesional to do the job is out of the question.
