I had traveled to NYC once a year the last 7 years for Japanese straighteners and always was pleased with the results. However I decided to grow it all out and start over. After doing some research and reading the posts here, I decided to give Leslie a try.
Let me start by saying that I had great hesitantcy that BKT's "worked". I already had 2 Paul Brown keratin treatments locally which did nothing and in fact the last one actually made my hair frizzier.
Let me just say: I LOVE the results. I've always wanted some amount of curl, just not the mess I was born with. I also prefer air drying my hair. So after receiving the treatment (BTW Leslie's new space is fabulous - so open and full of natural light) and waiting the requisite 48 hours, I washed and let it dry naturally. The results are soft, shiny, loose curls - very pretty and natural looking. I couldn't be happier. It is also apparent that if I wanted it to be straight it would take only a few passes with an iron.
The only downside I can think of is that since it is temporary I will have to travel to NYC much more often than I have in the past and am concerned about costs, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. (I am not beneath begging and bribing my local stylist to bring this into her salon.)
All in all, I am extremely pleased with the results and would recommend this to anyone who is on the fence about getting the treatment. There were no fumes at all and I experienced no discomfort. I am traveling to Mexico for a Christmas holiday, so I'll post back with how this held up to high humidity.
Leslie - it was such a pleasure to finally meet you. You are a true professional and I wish you much luck with your new home. I believe it will be a smashing success. Happy Holidays!
