Hi Vincent - we had a discussion a few weeks back and you responded saying "There are quite a few treatments out now that do not require the 4 day period. They are
I called the salon that offers the treatment where you can shampoo 24 hours later. I was told they offer both the 24 hour treatment and the 4 day treatment but that everyone is using the 24 hour now. She said it is really a burden for people to wait 4 days and they 'lose a week of their life'. She said they cost the same - but are from different companies. I didn't ask who makes the 4-day treatment but she said the 4-day has no formaldehyde but the 24-hour treatment does.
She said it has .02% and it is by Lasio. I actually went to the Lasio website and found the following information:
Lasio Inc. offers two straightening products. The Maximum Strength Four Day formula requires the client to refrain from wetting their hair until the fourth day. On the fourth day, the client can wash their hair with the Lasio Keratin Pro shampoo and conditioner and style as usual. The Maximum Strength One-Day formula, offered exclusively by Lasio Inc., allows the client to wash their hair after only twenty-four hours.
SO my question is - - - will the 24-hour treatment really work? I'd prefer the 24 hour treatment for convenience, but I am surprised as somehow I thought it would be formalin free. I don't know why I thought that though. The woman at the salon said they give out masks.
I visited another salon and asked a bunch of questions. They only use the 4-day and they use Rejuvenol and said there is NO formaldehyde but I know that can't be true.
So I am debating about the 24-hour Lasio treatment, the salon is currently offering a 30% discount, though I don't know what they charge.
I'm still a bit nervous - that it might ruin my hair, or give me breathing issues longterm? The salon that offers this is very reputable, but they don't have a special ventilating system. I might call another place as well.
