Subject: Rusk on Top of Lisco - Denise Please

Denise, you responded to me after bend damage on my last TR about a year ago – Thank you. I love TR and will never stop, but Last month I did switch stylist. Why? Because after doing this for 7yrs, I was tired of always having some bend damage. I went to a different stylist and we discussed the issues I had run in to in the past and she seemed very knowledgeable. So, I took the plunge. The three issues she had to overcome: Limited damage/breakage from TR 14 mos ago left some hair at different lengths, Switching from Lisco to Rusk, and that I had colored my hair for the first time about 8 mos ago, and the stylist did not use semi perm color – I had never had color before, so I did not find this out until I got real semi-perm color and could feel a tremendous difference in my hair.
Results – no bends. However, I was either over or under processed. The ends of my hair are kinky and burnt looking. The hair in the front is the worst. It is different layers because of previous damage and just looks frizzy, kinky and even curly. The stylist re-TRd the front, but it is now worse. Now when wet, the front is elastic and extremely kinky. Oddly enough, the damage goes up about 3 inches from the ends. I have long hair, and would cut the three inches, but I hate to give up the weight that helps the hair hang straighter. Also, I am not sure that the hair above would not go kinky, and the random shorter hairs all over my head would still be an issue.
The stylist already redid the front about a week after the initial TR, but that is when the front became rubbery when wet. I know this stylist would try to make my hair better, but before making it worse, experts who have worked with rusk and Lisco to weigh in.
