Subject: Difference Between Marcia Original and Chocolate

I e-mailed the Marcia Tiexiera company to ask them about the difference between the original and chocolate formulas. I pasted their reply below.

It sounds like the chocolate has oils and proteins in it that make course hair straighter but can also weigh fine hair down.

My hair is definitely course/frizzy, but it also feels weighed down because it is so straight from the Japanese at the ends. I have about 5 inches of re-growth.

I would really appreciate any feedback/advice abut which formula to use.

Here's what the company said:

In addition to keratin, the Chocolate Extreme De-Frizzing Treatment
contains an
Essential Amino Acid Blend of eleven other proteins, cupuacu butter,
cocoa butter, mineral oil, flax seed oil protein, and cinnamon
essential oil.

If you have very coarse, ethnic type hair, or has extremely tight curls, the
Chocolate formula will produce a more dramatic result than the
original formula. It is not correct to say that the Chocolate formula
is ?stronger? than the original. That implies that it has a higher
level of formaldehyde, which it does not. The only active ingredients
that contribute to the difference in results are the Essential Amino
Acid Blend and the various oils, which make the formula heavier,
weighing the hair down, creating a straighter result.

If you have curly hair and do not want to lose the curls, but just get rid of
the frizz, use the original formula, and have them shampoo on the
second day, instead of waiting 4 days. If you do this, the results
will last 2 months at the most because the cuticle will not have had
enough time to hold the seal.

If you have more Caucasian or Asian type hair, use the original
formula. If you
use the Chocolate, the results may be too flat, lacking in any amount
of body or bounce.
