Subject: Question About ISH Treatment
Date: December 13, 2008 at 5:42 am PST

Hi Tommy,

I read your post about the ISH treatment and I recently ordered both the salon and the one-minute treatments from an online store.

I was planning to ask my regular stylist (who does not normally do the treatment at her salon) to do the salon one for me.

Then, I discovered on the ISH site that there was another salon in my area that offers it as one of their services. I decided to go there, as they had experience doing it on a regular basis .

So, I got the treatment done last Saturday. The stylist clarified my hair first, using KMS. Then he flat ironed the treatment at 100 degreeds into my hair, let it cool and washed it out. My hair felt a little better than usual on the first day. However, since then, i have noticed that it feels even more straw-like than usual (I have damage from a straightener) and that my color has faded somewhat.

When I received the products that I had ordered a few days later, I read the directions for the one you do in the salon, and it says to blow dry the hair 30-90% before flat ironing. It also does not mention anything about clarifying the hair.

I called Nelson Chan, the inventor of the product, and he said that the product really does work best when you blow dry first. This helps it to sink in better. I forgot to ask him about whether or not her recommended clarifying first.

I am wondering what your experience has been with the product. Do you clarify first and do you blow dry the hair before flat ironin? Do you think that clarifying my hair could have caused even more damage?

Thanks for any insight you can offer!
