If you have come to this site on a web search for beauty or weightloss products -- please do not call us to ask about those products. We do not sell them!
We recently have been receiving many phone calls and emails from people who read posts about a particular product on these discussion boards, and then call us because they think we may somehow sell or be involved with that product.
We only sell Lamas Beauty shampoos and skincare products. For a listing of products we sell, please visit our homepage.
Please do not call us about other products that people may talk about on these discussion boards. Our Customer Service department will not be able to discuss any products with you other than Lamas Beauty products. While people here may discuss or express opinions about other beauty or weightloss products, we have no information or connection with any products but our own, so please do not call us about those other products.

There is nothing to fear from the CDR. It is a chemical based relaxer that can be used in different ways. It's chemical base is cysteamine HCL. The CDR alters the internal bonds of the hair so it cannot be compared to a keratin treatment. They do not alter the internal structure of the hair. It would be better compared to a TR or a smooth control. Cysteamine is a milder bond breaker than thio. It can be a nice product for the less stubborn heads of hair. They do have a presoftener that can be used for more stubborn heads of hair. The presoftener has ammonia in it so there is not a great deal of difference.
There are several straighteners/relaxers/perms that use cysteamine. Iso, Manetamer, Paul Brown, Pravana Keratin Fusion and others.
The CDR people claim that their product can be used over any relaxed hair. I have not seen the results of that and I don't understand how that is possible over sodium hydroxide relaxers without destruction of the hair. The chemicals are not compatible. Cysteamine is compatible with Thio and can be used over each other. HOWEVER, great caution and care must be taken using any chemical over another even if they are compatible.
It is vital to find the most experienced person possible to do any straightening of any kind.
To say the CDR is safer would imply that the other processes are not safe. They are all safe when used properly.
A hair straightening expert will have understanding and knowledge of all the methods of straightening, the chemicals used and which process to use for each client. I will discuss with the client their individual hair straightening needs and decide which method and product or system to use that will produce the best result for their hair, lifestyle and wallet.
