Thanks for your input too. I will get it colored professionally before my TR. I travel over an hour to Hidy Hair for my TR and can't do color there. I will find someone locally. If I ask the stylist to even out the porosity, will they understand what I mean.

I've been using just the brush-on permanent haircolor that's meant for in between colorings. I just have grey by my temples and a few here and there. I've done it a few times but not my whole head. If the stylist "evens out my porosity" will that start me with a clean slate for a TR?

What treatment are you talking about that can be done at home before TR?

Right now my hair is shoulder length but very layered (shag). I have a lot of hair and have to have it severely layered when it's wavy like this.

Jay did my first/last TR and I had bleach highlights, some grey, some dryness, etc. and it came out great. I hope to get the same even though the style and some things have changed.

Thanks for your input. With two small kids, it's sometimes hard to get out to the salon!

I'm going to get a mini-TR because I want to keep some body. I don't think pin straight will look good with these layers and want to keep some body. I just want the result to be permanent and get rid of the poofiness.
