The time factor is cut almost in half because the pressing takes much less time. You may get a slight amount of wave but without the frizz. The opti-smooth is a compatible product since it is thio based but my recommendation is to do the curl reducer (mini-TR) since the pressing makes it permanent. If you overlap the product too many times whether it be optismooth or any thio based product you can create dry or damaged hair. Without the ironing it will revert back each time so you have to repeat the process over and over which may cause damage.
