I agree. It is very difficult to find a stylist that knows how to cut curly hair.
I know back when I was naturally curly THE ONLY time I wore my hair straight was when I went to the salon because they always want to blow it out when they're done with a cut.
When I move and go back to driving to work and work closer to home I will probably wear it curly again. the only reason that I chemically straighten it is because I get up at 4am every morning just to make it to work on time without washing/conditioning (I do that before bed) and need to just brush it out. Also, I walk downtown from the train to work and that wreaks havoc on the hair.. it looks completely different than when I left the house.
Back in the day when I didn't live so far from work, I'd get up, condition my hair (even if I washed/conditioned the night before), comb it out with jojoba and I'd go to work and everyone would rant about how gorgeous my hair was. It was just nice naturally but now because I can't get up early enough to wet it and it's so cold to walk around in the winter with wet hair and the walk etc, it was just easier to straighten it. I'm looking forward to my curls and waves again.
Studies have proven that contrary to the straight/blonde look, men prefer curly brunettes. My husband doesn't. He doesn't care about the color but he likes straight hair. Tough cookies. I like it curly/wavy. That's how he met me and he'll have to deal.
