Once again, thank you Denise for your advice. I'll do the Biolustre before the highlights. I'll let you know how it goes.
Marielle, my hair broke because of bad technique when I got a TR, not because of highlights. However, Biolustre is a great reconstructor, so if your hair is weak from any kind of process, I'd suggest giving it a try. I live in Oakland, CA, so I can't tell you where to get it in your area, which coincidentally, is where I lived for the better part of my life. I went to the Biolustre website and got all the information for my stylist so she could order it. They do have a home kit which isn't quite as strong as the salon version, but it will give your hair some support until you can get it done professionally. The home kit also comes with a maintenance shampoo that I use weekly, which I think also helps. If you do it at home it will help to have a friend there to help you with the rinsing. The stuff dries hard like a helmet, and I had my head in the sink for about 15 minutes to be sure I got it all out. You'll still have to moisturize, but after the first week or so it isn't as dry as it was at first.
I hope my long rambling email helps you. All I can say is it saved my hair, and I have Denise to thank for telling me about it. Good luck!
