I had my first BKT back in March, after having highlights during the same appt. My expectations were fairly low after two failed TR processes in the past, but after the four days, the result was unbelievable! The stylist recommended I blow dry just to smooth it and it wasn't even necessary! It air dried shiny, beautiful and 100% straight without losing any body or volume! I was literally tearing up I was so thrilled with the difference. In June, I couldn't get an appt right away with the original stylist (no surprise, he is absolutely AMAZING!)and went to a salon in Boca that had been recommended in this forum. The result was nothing like the first. It lacked the condition and shine and while it didn't crease anywhere, the ends CURLED!
My question is, did it turn out so much better the first time as a result of having processed the hair by highlighting immediately before or could it have been because of the difference in the way each stylist performed the process? The first having applied the chemicals and then blowing my hair perfectly straight before it was ironed and the second just blowing it haphazardly, drying it much faster but not anything close to straight before the ironing...or is it unlikely that either of these would influence such a dramatic difference? If anyone can offer any info or even an opinion, I would greatly appreciate it! My hair is very, very thick and after blow drying, it takes nearly 2 hrs of quality time with the Chi to get my hair straight, so the process is extremely worth the cost for me. Before I book my 3rd, is it just due to my hair type? ...in which case, better I spend the cash on tuition. :-X
Sorry for typing so much!
