If you have come to this site on a web search for beauty or weightloss products -- please do not call us to ask about those products. We do not sell them!

We recently have been receiving many phone calls and emails from people who read posts about a particular product on these discussion boards, and then call us because they think we may somehow sell or be involved with that product.

We only sell Lamas Beauty shampoos and skincare products. For a listing of products we sell, please visit our homepage.

Please do not call us about other products that people may talk about on these discussion boards. Our Customer Service department will not be able to discuss any products with you other than Lamas Beauty products. While people here may discuss or express opinions about other beauty or weightloss products, we have no information or connection with any products but our own, so please do not call us about those other products.

Thank you.

Formaldehyde In high doses can produce cancer of the lungs, skin or brain.
Did you know that Formaldehyde is used in your clothes to prevent wrinkling and in nail
polish to prevent your nails from chipping. There are many uses for this grade of
formaldehyde which is only 2% in the Brazilian Keratin Treatment. The salon should provide a
mask or damp towel to protect you from the gas off of the hot iron. We give our clients a
small fan to get the fumes away from thier face.

When I started researching the Brazilian keratin Treatment 2 years ago. I read alot of good
things about it and alot of bad things about the use of Escova Progressiva which is the
Brazilian brand name. I read and translated info from Portuguese message boards that wrote
about how it damaged the hair and burned thier skin. I also read warnings from the brazilian
equivolent of the FDA about the dangers of formaldehyde (formol). What I found out since
then was that formaldehyde is sold over the counter in Brazil. The stylists who couldn't afford
Escova Progressiva bought formaldehyde from the drugstore that was 30 and 40% and didn't
mix it with keratin because Keratin is too expensive in Brazil. It's expensive here too. This is
when all the problems started to be reported. Burnt scalp and hair because that percentage
of formaldehyde can kill. It would be like using 100 volume peroxide on your scalp. It would
burn your scalp and hair right off. we use 100 volume for wigs and hair pieces sometimes for
balayage techniques. This is the latest info I have about formaldehyde and the brazilian
keratin Treatment. We've been using it in the salon for 5 months now. We've learned how to
work with the product and we don't get any complaints from the client or the stylist using it.
We're doing 25 a week since the article in the NY Times.
