Danielle raises some very intelligent questions here.
What she is saying is we have no idea what the actual risks are.
We don't really know what % Formaldehyde is actually in this product aside from someone who is selling the product and has a lot to gain by the sale of this product saying so. No one is accusing anyone of anything but there are lots of questions that we would be wise to have answered from someone who knows what they are talking about like a scientist.
As far as I am concerned that point is undisputable.
It is one thing to have formaldehyde in a wrinkle free shirt for example and quite another to breath the hot fumes into or noses and lungs when studies have shown it causes cancer.
We really ought to get an EDUCATED opinion and get the facts and do this safely. No one is going to do this research for us. The government is not involved. It is up to us.
When anyone unqualified speaks their minds pro or con it is pretty pointless.
I for one love the BKT and pray to God it turns out to be safe but
For example are paper masks enough protection? I was told by a doctor who was very concerned about the formeldahyde that paper is not adequate protection and many of us thought it was. That is something that we ought to know now, not when it is too late.
We ought to do this process safely for everyone involved, especially the stylists who are doing this all day at work.
Knowledge is a good thing. We ought to find out the truth.
