The best conditioner for hair is your natural oil, not your sweat. That is why women use to brush their long hair 100 times. They would move the oils from the scalp down to the ends. A good boar brostle brush will help accomplish that. Eventually the bristles will be coated with your own natural oils and it will distribute better. If those oils do not reach the ends of your hair, not shampooing your hair will not help much.
Dirt and sweat are not a healthy combination for the scalp, no matter what type of hair you have. I do not believe that hair should be shampooed every day, but I would suggest, depending on one's lifestyle, every 2 or 3 days. It is about cleaning the scalp more than it is about cleaning the hair.
Finding the proper products for your type of hair is the key. Using leave in moisture on the ends is also important.
Basically what I am saying is that if it your scalp feels dirty and it is an uncomfortable feeling for you, shampoo.
