Last Saturday I had a BKT at Capelli D'Oro with Les and his team. My history is fine, frizzy, wavy hair that was damaged from too much heat styling. I blew dry AND hot ironed my hair every day so my hair suffered a lot of damage. I have also had two TR's in the past that just did not take. So I was very hopeful but very skeptical of this BKT process. I started off getting color and highlights, then BKT. Liz combed the mixture into my hair, I sat, then she blow dried my hair. My hair looked pretty terrible at that point! Liz, who was doing my BKT, told me that is a common response at that point in the process. After the ironing my hair was very straight and very soft.
I shampooed it the other day (it was getting limp - my ears were poking through my hair). I bought shampoo and conditioner there - L'Anza. I had this feeling it would not work like all the other things I have had done. I couldn't believe it - I fingered dried my hair (I am used to pulling the brush through it) and finished it off with a quick iron (I am usually obsessively pulling the iron through my hair). My hair was swingy and straight - and no frizz. It also rained in the Philadelphia area and my hair stayed straight, much to my surprise.
I loved the shampoo and conditioner from L'Anza. It has a pleasant coconut scent that lingered. My hair was so soft and manageable when I woke up this morning that I decided not to wash it.
So, I recommend getting a BKT from Capelli Doro! I think the most pleasant "side effect" of this whole thing is having my hair swing at the slightest move. SO nice to experience that! Also, for the 5 hours I was there (because I had other processes done) I think 2 or 3 women came and went who had BKT's, and I couldn't believe the change in their hair.
So thank you to Les and his team of stylists - I love my hair! And if you already have BKT, I recommend the L'Anza shampoo and conditioner. It does not have sodium chloride or lauryl sulfite and it smells SO good. I didn't even have to wash my hair the next day.
