There are a lot of variables in BKT.
I think Pureology might not be the best shampoo to use. It may not have sodium chloride but it is loaded with other chemicals that likely could potentially strip the hair.
I think someone with bkt should be looking more along the lines of the Morrocco Method, Aubrey and other limited ingredients/chemical shampoos. Conditioner does not seem to matter as much although I have seen some conditioners with sodium as an ingredient. Some shampoos without Sodium Chloride have other "sodium" ingredients and I wonder if "salt is salt" and if SLS affects it etc.
Anyone using Marcia's shampoos having this problem as well?
It also matters how many times the hair is ironed, I've been told. Some hairdressers only iron a few times and I was told by a few people that isn't enough.
Also some hairdressers feel if you coat with too much product, the iron doesn't penetrate it but the iron is awfully hot so it is likely you could tolerate a bit more product and more swipes with the iron, other than undersaturation causing hair damage.
I'd really like to hear from people who do not use Pureology how long this is lasting for them and what shampoo they are using.
Also, the ones who have had success vs. damage or wavy hair or short lived results whether their hairdressers were certified and trained by Marcia or not.
I know people are hesitant to post things to the board that would seem negative but we aren't get the true picture anymore of what is happening and who/what is causing it. Because of this, the situation won't be corrected.
