In the professional line of colors, a semi-permanent color is not mixed with peroxide. The color you see is the color you get. Deposit only/Demi permanent color utilizes oxidative and direct dyes and requires peroxide. They are much longer lasting than semi permanent. I always use permanent (lift/deposit) color to cover gray at the new growth area and use a demi on the mid-shaft and ends. Demi/Deposit only color acts a cuticle constraint leaves the hair in good condition with great shine and coverage.
