If you have come to this site on a web search for beauty or weightloss products -- please do not call us to ask about those products. We do not sell them!
We recently have been receiving many phone calls and emails from people who read posts about a particular product on these discussion boards, and then call us because they think we may somehow sell or be involved with that product.
We only sell Lamas Beauty shampoos and skincare products. For a listing of products we sell, please visit our homepage.
Please do not call us about other products that people may talk about on these discussion boards. Our Customer Service department will not be able to discuss any products with you other than Lamas Beauty products. While people here may discuss or express opinions about other beauty or weightloss products, we have no information or connection with any products but our own, so please do not call us about those other products.

Anyone can add pictures. It has to do with the link spaces below the comments box. Les showed me how to do it, but I didn't store the information. It is the "Optional Image URL" box.
I also think that it is very important to the stylist to have a complete consultation with any client considering a BKT or a TR and explain exactly what they can expect as a result (post shampooing).
One problem may be that there are so many stylist out there who really don't know the outcome of either a TR, TRtouch-up or BKT due to lack of training and experience. They choose to embelish which makes many clients unhappy with their results. They expected more.
I do not think that pictures on a website should be the deciding factor for anyone, pro or con.
Perhaps work done by one person on one side of the country with less experience is vastly different from someone else, with a great deal of experience. To say "a person would have to be totally inept to incorrectly perform a BKT service" is not accurate, and unkind. It may not be as difficult as a TR but there is a degree of skill. Using that argument, one would have to be inept to improperly apply a certain types of hair color, but it happens all the time. I have seen spotty, poorly applied hair color. Improper ironing can cause much damage. BKT and TR alike. Even more so with a TR.
That is why the consultation is extremely important.
I still believe that this process is no different than anything else that has come before. It has a place and a need.
Every product/chemical procedure we perform has been under scrutiny at sometime. A BKT is no more harmfull to the hair than a permanent hair color. Those chemicals are under attack daily. The chemicals in hair color have been associated with different forms of cancer. Is that true? we don't know because after all the research, there is no conclusive evidence that the hair color is the cause of the cancer.
Perhaps we should post pictures of hair coloring done badly also. Repeated applications of bleach will kill hair more than anything. Have you ever seen a fried perm?
When we see ads for hair color companies, we are not seeing a true representation of that company or the color. As long as that particular color has been used somewhere in the ad, anything else can be used as well.
Every process/product that has a pH over 5.5 will open the cuticle of the hair. Including some shampoo.Including water. Some pH solutions work much faster than others. It all depends on the chemistry. If a product has a small enough molecular structure to penetrate the cuticle without lifting the cuticle, it will deposit into the inner structure of the hair. Depositing in the inner structure of the hair does not mean that bonds are broken. Those bonds can only be broken if whatever has been deposited into the inner structure has the chemical composition to break bonds.Hair color used repeatedly can break bonds, but not in the way the chemicals we use in a TR. The repeated use of permanent hair color will cause a great deal of damage. That is why it is never a good idea to continue to apply permanent hair color over and over. The old way of refreshing the ends by running color through them, is a bad idea.
Eventually proteins are displaced and the hair loses it's strength and elasticity.
Hair color over a BKT does not work effectively. That is why hair coloring should be determined and applied prior to a BKT. That is the way to achieve the best results.
The breaking of hydrogen bonds is something we all do every day. Those are the bonds that change temporarily. They make the curl in straight hair and the straight in curled hair.Of course this is accomplished with the aid of some form of heat. I do not know if we have a finite number of those bonds, but I do know that repeated use of unprotected heat will cause severe damage to hair. The traditional "blow out" is very damaging to hair. That process is done all of the time in salons, by stylists who have no clue as to how the hair is being harmed. They do not care. When the clients hair becomes incapable of performing due to damage, they will sell them some sort of product that they have no idea how it works and why it is supposed to do what it does. Actually, the product is probably just a glorified moisturizer!!!
But, I digress,
It is all about truth in advertising. Let the buyer beware. The world is full of deception. That is why finding the right person/stylist is important. I don't think that UnSprungs results should stop a person from seeking out this service. I do think that the fact that there is deception out there
(photos) is a good point to "put out there".
Ultimately, the educated client/consumer must make their own decision.
