I'm not a stylist or anything, but I just want to give you my views on the matter.
I have relaxed-bone straight, A-A hair, 2 inches past brastrap.
It sounds like the breakage you are suffering is because your hair is overprocessed, either by the relaxer being left on too long or because it was not neutralised properly.
In my opinion I would do the Tanagra. Even though the BTK will stop the breakage, it will only make your hair "appear" healthy....after 3 months and the BTK wears off, your hair will be in the same condition that it was in before the treatment.
The Tanagra on the other hand actually repairs the hair structure. I have had 2 treatments of the Tanagra system done....my 3rd treatment is next week. After The first treatment my hair was amazing, silky, smooth, minimal shedding and NO breakage for the entire week...I was shocked. My second treatment which was a week after the first treatment, my hair was silky smooth and there was still only minimal shedding, but about 3 days after that treatment I started to experience some breakage about 5 broken strands a day when I combed (it doesn't sound like alot but eventually it adds up). Denise from this site helped me solve the problem....my hair is naturally dry and normally I moisturise daily, but after the treatments I didn't moisturise at all. SO I moisturised last night and this morning before I combed and I only saw 2 broken strands, which I know will turn to zero as long as I keep up with the moisture. I say all of this just to let you know that although Tanagra in my opinion is a miracle treatment, you still have to look at your hair type and what is best for the maintenance of your hair....for me its moisture.
If you do decide to do the Tanagra system and continue relaxing...I would suggest that you take a good look at the strength of the relaxer you are using as well as the length of time it is left on...also during the neutralising process, try leaving the neutralising shampoo on your hair for about 5 minutes before you rinse, then repeat. Because even though the Tanagra will repair your hair, if you over process with the relaxer you are destroying the "new" keratin from the Tanagra Treatment.
Hope this helps
