I love powdered lightener (bleach) and use it frequently for designer bright, controlled highlights or double processed blondes. However, bleach that is mixed with water alone will create lift. Artificial Pigment Removers are great because they do not change the natural level of hair color. They are formulated to remove previous color only and that leaves the hair in better condition because the natural pigment is left undisturbed. Timing is so critical in maintaining the integrity of the hair and bleach begins to lift the moment it is activated with liquid and applied. It is very difficult to process the hair evenly with bleach and if the goal is to remove color AND have healthy hair, Artificial Pigment Removers are the most gentle and effective products.
