The more I found out about the procedure, the more I wanted to learn. It just goes to show that we should never close our minds.
I found out after a great deal of research, that there is a need for a straightener like this. I will always do the thermal reconditioning process, but I feel there is a need for this product.
In my research I went to numerous articles to read about the cautions on the Brazilian Straightener. Most of them at the time were in different languages. I had to have the pages translated and a lot is lost. In my heart I knew there was something to this and the claims of wonderful results. Instead of giving up, I continued to check it out. I called many salons in Florida that were doing this process. I asked tons of questions. I even had a client, who travels to Brazil on a regular basis, check out any information he could.
When I finally spoke with Marcia who is the woman responsible for bringing this product in its present form, to the US, my fears were assuaged. I am meeting with her tomorrow in Miami to discuss this
So, I guess I was too quick to judge this. After all, there is a lot of negative out there about botched thermals. I am glad that I continued to keep an open mind. Now, the is an alternative for those who do not want to give up their bleached highlights, for those who cannot have a TR because they have trashed their hair with flat irons and blow dryers.
That posts seems so long ago to me now. It did teach me to do more research before I give a professional opinion.
And, as far as not hearing about anyone loving this after their first shampoo... or after 2 months... the voices of pleased, happy clients are being heard!!!!
