I was using the Sleek line, too, and it was doing a better job than previous products I'd used but still wasn't great. My daughter and I began using the Redken Smooth Down line on a recommendation from Denise on this board, and it has made a huge difference in our hair! The products we've used are the Redken Smooth Down shampoo, conditioner, occasionally the Butter Treat, and I'm also using Sebastian's Penetraitt a couple of times a week because my hair is permanently colored and has been processed with a sodium hydroxide relaxer (which doesn't really get my hair straight but makes it easier for me to style it).
Just this week, I had my stylist order me some Aquage Straightening Ultra-gel (another recommendation from Denise), and my daughter and I are LOVING it! Our hair is so silky that we can't keep our hands out of it! (Yesterday, we went shopping, and all day kept reaching over to touch each other's hair.) I live in NC, and we've been having a long stretch of very dry air (no humidity) this fall, so it hasn't had a "real" test yet. But we are going to Florida the day after Christmas for my son to play in a soccer tournament, so we'll see how it does there.
Hope this helps. And Denise, THANK YOU for your recommendations! Your advice on refreshing my color with Redken Shades EQ turned out great, too. My stylist used the Cherry Cola shade to refresh my color while my roots were being retouched, and I can't believe how gorgeous my color looks and how soft and silky my hair is. Thank you so much!
