I haven't gone since Feb. They seemed to know what they were doing over there but two of them worked on me (a girl and the owner, Masa). They were hard to understand. They pulled my hair a lot during the ironing (not very gentle). But they really seemed to know what they were doing..they worked quick and did all the right steps.
But for some reason they met in the middle in the back during the ironing and were chatting with eachother etc and then after the neutralizer and rinse they took me over and it still didn't look right (whereas iStraight and Optismooth looks good after the first step..before ironing and neutralizing). So they take me in this chair after all steps and she starts re-ironing my hair which I thought was very odd. And then she calls Masa over and they start talking in Japanese again and so finally I'm like "is there a problem?" and there was a part they couldn't straighten but she said if it was like that after the first wash to come back.
Well, after the first wash it was not straight in all parts but due to weather and distance, price of gas etc I just did not feel like going back. there were only a few wavy bits and so I just didn't bother. I did send people my pics and they said it looked damaged but I didn't think it felt damaged at all.
and if anyone asks, they knew the history, everything my hair had been thru blah blah..
And so after a month or two ..maybe a little more, the ends started curling up, more waves started coming in and it slowly began to revert. I've heard people on this board saying if it was straight it won't revert but it absolutely does. I'm proof.
I have no doubt they would have redone it. They were very polite and have TONS of experience and he's been doing these in Japan before opening the salon in America.
My friend at work goes every few months. Her hair is more thick and resistant than mine but still to me her hair looks pretty dry. She is happy with them though but she's only had Liscio. Having had i Straight done I am happier with iStraight.
that's why I wanted my local haidresser who did my OptiSmooth to get iStraight.
Uni likely errs on the side of caution and is more likely to underprocess than overprocess the hair. But they are polite, have tons of experience and are reasonable. I just do not have the time or money for travelling out there to have it fixed. Every time I made an appt. for a touch up I canceled.
