I found this and thought this is how it was supposed to be done. My hair seemed to be cut more like the second diagram except for the top/front 3 inches. I kind of looks pineapple-ish, if that makes sense!
My scanner isn't working so I can't scan the pic I had shown the stylist. The guy who did is has A LOT of experience and is in his 50s so I'm surprised it wasn't to my liking. The cut set me back over $200 with the tip so I don't know that I'll be going back. This means I have to find another stylist because I'm too embarrassed to go back to the one I had seen previously. I haven't had a good stylist in years and I can't travel to NYC to see my old guy since I have two young kids now...just too much hassle since we moved over an hr away from the city too.
I'd love to see your cut and will see if I can find some way to get a pic of my cut or the pic I showed this guy.
I'm just wondering if someone just has to bring all my hair up to the shortest layer and cut straight across. Now, the top is one length when brought up but then it jumps to a couple of inches longer when you get to the hair past eye level - that's the part that poofs out. It's not blended it with the rest of the hair.
So frustrating! Wish you cut hair in NJ...you seem to know what I want. Thanks for your input.
