When looking at formaldehyde...be aware that it has many other names. Formalin, Methanal, Methyl Aldehyde, Methylene Oxide, Morbicid Acid and Oxymethylene. The formaldehyde content in the solutions seem to vary; however, we use Marcia's product and the formaldehyde vapors becomes a mute point IF a Fume Extractor is used. Granted, there are a number of products that are being brought into the U.S. in someone's suitcase and therefore, it is difficult to know the actual formaldehyde content...but stay with a reputable salon, know the name of the product they are using and by all means, make sure a Fume Extractor is available. That will ensure safety for both you and the stylist! Jan Norris
