I was skeptical at first, and waited to buy it from a retail drugstore so I could return it if unsatisfied. I am truly thrilled by it! It really does only trim the very ends. I am someone who researches all my hair products and buys only high end items, especially because my curly hair requires a lot of pampering. I really wanted to find something NOT to like about the splitender, but I couldn't. I use it on very small sections, and with my thick hair, it takes about 30 minutes to complete. My layers looked fresh and my bangs have stayed out of my lashes. For someone who straigtens often, this is a end-saver! My only concern is how to maintain the sharpness of the blades. Other than that, I love the product.
