Subject: BKT S.O.S.

I have lots of fine, porous, double processed blonde hair
that I am trying to grow out, but am finding it almost
impossible because of my daily blow out & flat iron routine.
My hair breaks in spite of at least 2-3x/wk deep conditioning
treatments & thermal styling products! You can actually see
(if you look close enough) broken hairs on my head & on my
clothes! (Naturally my hair is very dark & the natural
texture is Mediterranean-like wavy.) That said, I finally
heard about the keratin therapy & thought it would
straighten, add shine & leave my hair healthier than I’ve
seen in a long time. I was also told that I would not have to
deep condition, again after the BKT. Ahh..Dreaming of
mornings that all my hair will need is a quick blast with the
blow dryer & finger comb & out the door I go. So I had the
Brazilian Rejuvenol Keratin Treatment last Thursday. When I
woke up on Friday, I was concerned because my hair had some
curls & waves. Not good, especially considering that I didn’t
get it wet or work out/up a sweat. I used a blow dryer &
brush to straighten my hair & off I went. The forecast
prediction was stormy with downpours for Friday evening into
Saturday so I stayed in for the health of my hair. When I
awoke on Saturday…more curls & waves! I called the salon &
was told to blow the curls out. I did, and had to repeat the
same thing on Sunday morning because the amount of curls &
waves had multiplied! (BTW I was told that this has never
happened before.) On Monday, after I shampooed I saw my dream
spiral down the drain. Although my hair (maybe) felt a little
softer, it still required a brush for the blow out & my Sedu
to smooth. I was trying to do something good for my hair &
accomplished nothing getting the Rejuvenol BKT. All I got was
to shut myself in all weekend & flush good $$$ down the
drain. I’m very disappointed, but in the same breath,
extremely focused on getting my hair healthy so I need to get
this done right & am asking/pleading for your suggestion(s)
regarding a more effective BKT or other solution that you
know of that DOES straighten hair & DOES make hair silky
smooth & lastly, if you’ve had a positive experience with
BKT’s in the Boston area, I would love to hear from you as I
think it’s time to move on. Thanks.
