Subject: Perm Questions. for an expert
Date: August 6, 2008 at 11:08 pm PST
I have had 4-TR's in the past. I have not had one now in over a year and do not plan on getting another. I recently had about 7-inches cut off my hair and still have about 4- inches of TR'd hair left to grow out. My hair is about to my shoulders. I have been thinking about a perm but no one seems to know anything about them since they are apparently a thing of the past. I have thin stands but a lot of them, I have body to my hair but it isn't thick. Here are my questions: My hair is naturally curly but I hate the form it takes, it is almost more of an intense wave than an actual curl, that and its inconsistent (curlier in the front, wavy in the back). I wanted to know if a perm would help my hair take on an actual shape (and consistency) or if it would just become a disaster (since my hair is naturally very wavy)? Does it do anything with frizz? How do you maintain it? Are they extremely damaging to the hair? Do they fizzle out or do you have to grow them out? Thanks in advance.
