The Churchill Name Lives On . . .(conclusion)

Arabella Churchill |
When
last we met on "STARGATE," I introduced you to one of the most gracious
and unassuming women I have ever met. Yet she carries a name that
resounds with a history that will live on forever…Churchill.
Arabella
Churchill is the Granddaughter of the famed Sir Winston Churchill,
and is doing great things in her own right for her country of
England…especially it's children. But I couldn't help but be curious
if she had ever thought about following in your Grandfather's
political footsteps? "Yes, I did," she admitted. " Til I was a
teenager I was convinced I would be the first woman Prime Minister
of England." Somehow I was not at all surprised. But then she
added, "Then Indira Ghandi got there first. Then the retched Margaret
Thatcher, so I gave up." No comment from me, though I got the
express idea that Arabella is no fan of Maggie. "Too right wing
for my liking," she explained. She really did some hard thinking
about the political game, but then her brother (that's her half
brother…same dad, different moms) became a member of Parliament.
Seeing how he had to play so much party politics to get a position
of strength turned her off. However, don't completely close the
door on the political thing. Arabella told me she might do some
local politics when she retires from her work. I think she would
be a real kick in the English pants of politics.
With my ardent advocacy for women, I couldn't resist asking truly
honest and outspoken woman if she had any advice for we Fems.
Boy did she, and I loved it! "The main one is feel more confident,"
she said fervently. "I think things are better than they were
10…20…30 years ago. But I still think it's not easy to be a woman.
We are inheritantly strong, but it's still a man's world. In England,
men are paid a great deal more than women." Big surprise! We certainly
haven't come a long way baby on that one in the good 'ole USA
either! "It's still very difficult for a woman to forge a real
career and have a family too. For years, women have been made
to feel really not as strong as they can be. In England after
WW II, women were downtrodden. We got the vote only after the
first World War. I would like to see women believe in themselves
more. It doesn't have to be a battle with men. Men shouldn't feel
threatened by women being stronger. No need. The world would be
a better place if women are given more power. They are a lot more
sensible than men actually. If women were in charge, it would
be highly unlikely there would be wars." From your lips to women's
ears, Arabella! I agreed with this great lady fully. Perhaps it's
because women feel the pain of losing their sons and daughters
a wee bit more. After they carried then for some nine months,
and gave them life. Maybe, just maybe, that would cross their
minds before they push that red button for a piece of mud or a
barrel of oil in some God forsaken land!
What about a philosophy of life, Arabella? Have you given it some
thought? Indeed she had! "I'm trying to do as well as I can. I
think partly from coming from a famous family, I have to be good.
And I think for me that was a good thing. I try very hard. I think
everybody should try as hard as they can to be as good as they
can, and to achieve as much as they can. I've been struck with
this drive. I don't always live up to it, but it's engraved in
me. I like excellence, and I like people trying to be good." But
doesn't that take a passion for something in life, I asked? "Absolutely,"
she agreed, "But I also think you can teach yourself to do it.
Practice smiling. You'll be better at smiling. Think about the
world in comparison to outer space. We are so tiny. We take ourselves
too seriously. It's important to have something bigger than yourself
that you're working for." I have never heard it put better!
Finally, I needed a description of Arabella Churchill from Arabella
Churchill. "She's a great tryer," she jumped in quickly. "She
makes a lot of mistakes at times. She drinks too much sometimes.
She gets quite negative about herself sometimes. But she does
believe in good things, and does genuinely try to be good. AND
SHE TRIES!!!"
What more inspiration could I ask for I thought to myself, when
Arabella added, "Some people worry too much what they do from
the outside. It's how you are on the inside, and what you achieve
that matters. Well Done!
Truly WELL DONE ARABELLA CHURCHILL! I'm sure your Grandfather
must be smiling as we speak. If you would like to know more about

inside out is just as we always profess it is here on BeautyWalk.
Now you hear it from the lips of one of the most respected women
in the world today. I look forward to our next meeting, Dear Arabella.
Hopefully, it will be in person some day. You are an Inspiration
and a true Delight to all women! BLOODY WELL DONE !!!
