They
call her the "Dear Abby of Beauty". She is truly a beauty Evangelist. She
believes in the power of beauty… that is… that every woman should be her
most beautiful and sparkling best to be at her best. She is renowned Beauty
Expert Susie Galvez. Her books include her Ooh
La La series, and her newest "Hello Beautiful" …365
Ways To Be Even More Beautiful and "Weight Loss Wisdom"
…365 Successful Dieting Tips. From "Good Housekeeping", "Woman's World",
"Allure", and "Elle", Susie has some definite ideas about weight loss.
How many times have you begun a diet with the best of intentions, and then
slipped at the first hurdle? Sound familiar? That's why I loved this gorgeous
book. It doesn't count calories or tell you to exercise, it's chocked full
of brilliant tips, techniques, and ideas that work alongside your weight-loss
program to ensure that you don't fall of the wagon like
- CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK. By switching to mini-chocolate
chips in a cookie recipe instead of standard size, you can save about
one-half cup and 15 grams of fat and not even notice the difference.
- CHEW 'EM IF OYU GOT 'EM. Chewing sugarless gum while
preparing meals will help you keep from tasting too much, too soon.
The gum-chomping will also help to reduce stress levels. Food that gets
stuck in gum is not very appealing-so always chew gum instead of food
while cooking.
- SHORT BOOTS AND SKIRTS DO NOT MIX. Your legs will
appear wider and shorter. If a monochromatic color scheme is used matching
the skirt, hosiery, and boots, then and only then, could the look be
flattering-possibly. Best to take a snap shot of you in the outfit with
a full view lens before deciding.
- BEST FOOT FORWARD. Shoes with a bit of a heel (two
to three inches) elongate the legs and body. Also, shoes that have a
vamp closer to the toes, such as a v-shaped curve toward the toes, tend
to slim the look of the feet and legs.
- OUT OF SIGHT. Use the fruit and vegetable bin in
the refrigerator to store high-fat temptations. Chances are, you'll
forget they are there. Out of sight, out of mind, and most importantly,
off the thighs.
- PERFECT PAMPERING. Pamper yourself. Remember, you
are a unique individual and worth every penny. Make an appointment for
a facial, massage, pedicure, manicure, or all of the above. Make a date
to treat yourself to a bubble bath. Find a good book, light some candles
in the bathroom, close the door, and really enjoy your "me time".
There are 359 more of these fun tips to stay on the straight and narrow,
and they are fun too. Hey, gotta' get a laugh or two out of life, or why
bother. If you want more info on Susie and all her books, just log on to
www.susiegalvez.com.
She's got some great tips there, and a whole lot of encouragement too. Keep
smiling. Remember, a smile can hide a lot of problems. Besides, it makes
you feel lots better, takes a lot less muscles to do it, and potentially,
lots less wrinkles. Stay HAPPY !!!
