From the bottom of my heart, I'm very pleased to welcome you to
LamasBeauty.com.
I am so happy to be part of this website. It is the culmination
of my decades of experience in helping women look and feel beautiful,
both inside and out, and it is also a beginning. It is a beginning
as I will now be able to be a daily part of your life, and you
will become an important part of mine. Communicating with and
helping people, especially women, has always been an immense source
of joy for me -- and will be the most important aspect of the
LamasBeauty mission.
I
began my journey into the world of beauty 35 years ago, soon after
my parents and I arrived in New York City, having made a difficult
and hasty departure from Cuba. We escaped with but a few possessions
and little money, and I was helping my family to survive by waiting
tables. When a friend suggested that I might make more money as
a hair stylist than a waiter, at the tender age of 19 I enrolled
in beauty school. I never could have imagined where this off-handed
comment would lead. Rather than pursuing my planned career in
art, I discovered how much I loved working with a human canvas.
As an apprentice to trailblazers like Vidal Sassoon and hair
care giant Paul Mitchell, I had the opportunity to work with some
of the most famous and beautiful women of our time. I learned
from the Masters, not to mention the Grand Dames. And over the
last 35 years, I've seen it all -- the bad hair crisis; the pimple
on the chin that causes the leading actress to hide in her trailer
for days; the bruise on the face of a woman at a shelter.
My life has been dedicated to helping women feel good about themselves,
by helping them to realize their vast potential for personal beauty.
I have discovered that the Divas and the every day woman share
common insecurities and passions; they all want to look and feel
their best -- which can mean something different to each of them.
Beauty is very personal, and contrary to the old line that it's
"in the eye of the beholder," I have come to see through
my experience that beauty also comes from the person projecting
it.
To
me, beauty is not just about the perfect hair-cut, make-up or
nailpolish; it's about the full package. I can make just about
any woman look absolutely stunning; but, if she doesn't feel beautiful,
she won't be. Grace, confidence and personality
play a big role in attractiveness.
I
have long dreamed about having the ability to communicate and
interact with women from all walks of life; not only to share
tips and tales from my experiences as a beauty expert, but to
create a special community.
With
the launch of LamasBeauty.com, I see this dream finally being realized,
on a scale that only the Internet can offer. It is intended
to be a place where friendships and personal growth can be cultivated.
We intend to deal with the issues women of all ages, income status
and nationalities face, and be a part of helping you to explore
and reach your dreams.
And, of course, we're here to offer our line of healthy, natural, safe, high-performance Lamas Beauty products. They're pure, natural and cruelty-free, and contain no harsh chemicals or artificial ingredients.
I'm
also very pleased that a number of talented, caring experts from
a variety of fields are joining hands in this endeavor to provide
you with useful, timely information. We're all here for you.
So
let's break through some barriers together, and see what the future
has to offer. See you on the discussion boards!
With
much love,
Peter Lamas
